Children's Ministry

Meet Captain Denise Walker (Children's Ministries Secretary)

Apr 14, 2009 Add comment
I grew up in the country near Wingham, Ontario. As a kid I dreamed of being a movie star or a geologist or an archeologist or a hairdresser…or...well, I finally settled on Broadcasting and graduated in 1984 from Niagara College in Welland. It was in my second year of college that I surrendered my life to Jesus – and I’ve been on an amazing faith journey ever since. I worked for “100 Huntley Street” for an incredible 7 ½ years – the highlight being my years as Associate Producer/Director of a kids show – “Kingdom Adventure”.

It was in my final years there that I began to sense God’s call on my life. I am a Crusader for Christ – commissioned as a Salvation Army Officer in 1994. I’ve been part of the ministry in Calgary Alberta, Tumbler Ridge B.C., Bermuda, the Maritimes, Regina Saskatchewan, Williams Lake B.C. and now here at the Territorial Headquarters in Toronto – my focus on Children’s Ministries. I believe children of all ages can be saved – flourishing in the love of God! My passion - our sacred duty - it’s worth the effort!

Find out about Denise's new children's book about conserving water, Penelope Green Loves The Ocean.
