Prayer 24-7

The Prayer Coordinator's Information Letters:   July November 2011 | January 2012
Prayer Guides: November 2011January 2012

As recently encouraged by General Shaw Clifton, our territory has been preparing an appropriate response. Our Territorial Secretary for Spiritual Life Development, Lt. Colonel Winsome Mason, the Corps Ministries Department, the Youth Department, the Ethics Centre as well as others have been working diligently preparing and collating a number of very helpful resources to promote and encourage participation in this heartwarming Global Call to Prayer. Salvationists of all ages are being called to this vital prayer challenge. The following is a summary of what has been prepared for our territory. Read The General's Call to Global Prayer 24-7.

Adult Salvationists

We are aware that a number of individual Officers and Salvationists have personally registered their chosen prayer times with the Global Call to Prayer website, commencing in January 2011.  Salvationists are encouraged to link into the following websites to enhance our unity in this effort and for resources to help in this heart-warming venture. Resources to help with these prayer commitments are available on a number of websites:  www.MinistryHelps.ca, www.SalvationArmyEthics.org and www.saglobal247.org.  The territorial Spiritual Life Development representative has designated the theme: Unity and Perseverance in Prayer, which will be expressed as soldiers and members participate in the Global Call to 24-7 Prayer individually and corporately.

Corps and Ministry Units - 24-7:52 Challenge

Corps or Ministry Units are being challenged to voluntarily choose one week over the year to commit to 24-7 prayer, making up 52 weeks of ongoing 24-7. Individuals can pray from their homes or in groups at their selected time of day and/or location. This year of prayer will continue from Holy Week - 2011 through to Easter Sunday – 2012.

THQ will be rising to the challenge to cover the week of April 18 – 21, 2011 (Holy Week). Corps or Ministry Units can also sign up and join us for that week.
